A week full of events celebrating Loviisa!

The Loviisa day is celebrated August 25th 2017

All citizens, associations and enterprises of Loviisa have been invited to participate in the Loviisa day festivities, which have been named Kimppa, “Togetherness”. The centre of Loviisa will be filled with program during August 25th from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. The program consists of open doors around the city, dancing, music, art, games and much more.

Happening around the town
-Take a selfie and enjoy the music at the Sibelius container in the church park
-Music in Loviisa church every half hour starting at 3 p.m.
-Open Studio in Forum, Brandensteininkatu  13, residential artist Evelin Seppar talks about the music she has written here
-Antique market at Aleksanterinpiha from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
-Children’s running competition at 6 p.m., sign up at the town square
-Open doors at the youth centre of the local parish, Aleksanterinkatu 11 A, 6 p.m.-9 p.m.
-Open doors at a printing house, Print Mill, Mariankatu 20
-Swimming at Esplanad, Kuningattarenkatu 7, 2 p.m.-7 p.m.
-Program for the whole family at Vadelmatarha, Kuningattarenkatu 3, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
-Book release at restaurant Kappeli, pony riding in Kappelinpuisto, Kuningattarenkatu 19, 5.30 p.m.-7 p.m.
-Live music and dancing at the Sibelius house, Sibeliuksenkatu 10. You can also try different instruments.
-Kumppanuustalo Kulma, Sibeliuksenkatu 3, is open with an exhibition of Leena Selander
-Gardens and a harvest celebration in the Culture Centre Almintalo, Brandensteininkatu 3
-Try different ball sports outside Harjurinteen koulu
-Loviisa baby 7 years exhibition, Kuningattarenkatu 18
-Loviisa town museum is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
-Gallery Theodor is open  from 12 noon to 7 p.m.
-Women’s football game at 7 p.m., Urheilutie
-Children’s disco at 6 p.m. and dancing from 7 p.m. at Laivasilta
-Camp with scouts in the part by Laivasilta, 6 p.m.-7.30 p.m.
-Art exhibition and the Maritime museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Laivasilta
-Picnic in the Esplanad park
-Outdoor photo exhibition leads you into the history of Isnäs, start at Edöntie
-Loviisa Tourist Office is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the Loviisa day

Visit the Historical Houses of Loviisa!

After the Loviisa day, the event Historical Houses of Loviisa takes over the town, opening the doors to old houses and filling the parks and streets with markets and other program.  Loviisa Historical Houses is held August 26th and 27th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Ten of the historical houses open their doors already on Friday August 25th between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
The ticket to the houses, a wristband, can be bought from Loviisa Tourist Office. It is valid during the whole weekend.

Before the Loviisa day, the whole Loviisa week is filled with program, like an athletics competition on Monday 21st, the Loviisa day Market on Tuesday 22nd and the Loviisa run on Wednesday 23rd.

Other events during the weekend of August 26th and 27th is the Night of the Ancient Fires at Laivasilta on August 26th and the Olden Days at Jokela Home District Museum August 26th and 27th.
